Isaac Kay is a native of Cleveland, Ohio. Born into a large family, music has always been a part of his life. He began piano at 7, and soon after began his violin training with Rebecca Ensworth. He continued his studies at the Cleveland Institute of Music’s Preparatory College with Eugenia Poustyreva while also participating in the Cleveland Orchestra’s Youth Orchestra program. Isaac holds degrees from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, University of Denver, and Westmont College. He has performed across the world as a soloist, concertmaster, and chamber musician. A recipient of fellowships at the Aspen Music Festival and School, Isaac has performed chamber music alongside Augustin Hadelich, Stephen Waarts, Mary Beth Woodruff, Simone Porter, Robert Chen, and Alex Kerr. A member of the Colorado Springs Philharmonic, Isaac has performed with the Omaha Symphony, Santa Barbara Symphony, Opera Colorado, among others. He currently serves on the faculty at Metro State University-Denver, and is a visiting Artist at Westmont College. He performs on a 1765 Johannes Helmer violin on loan from the Riesenfeld family of Santa Barbara, California.
