Kailyn Martino (she/her) recently moved to Colorado from Cleveland, OH, where she spent the last six years learning and teaching. Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, Kailyn is currently a graduate student at University of Colorado Boulder. She is studying to earn a Masters of Music in Voice Performance & Pedagogy. In May of 2020, she graduated summa cum laude from Baldwin Wallace Conservatory of Music with a Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance with an emphasis in Vocal Pedagogy.

After a break due to the pandemic, Kailyn is grateful to return to the stage as “Blue Fairy” in The Adventures of Pinocchio, and as an opera scenes assistant director with Eklund Opera in November. Prior to cancellation due to COVID-19, Kailyn prepared the role of “Elle” in Francis Poulenc’s La Voix Humaine with Baldwin Wallace Opera. In 2018, she was "Younger Alyce" in the Midwest premiere of Tom Cipullo'sGlory Denied. Other performance credits include “Audrey” in Little Shop of Horrors, “Susanna” in Le nozze di Figaro, and “Despina” in Così fan tutte. She was also the 2018 recipient of the Hakola Prize for Academic & Vocal Excellence. She has performed supporting and cover roles with Cleveland Opera Theater, Accademia Vocale Lorenzo Malfatti, Hawaii Performing Arts Festival, Harrower Summer Opera and BW Opera.

Kailyn was a member of the voice faculty at Aurora School of Music in Aurora, OH for two years before moving to Colorado. As a teacher there, she taught weekly voice lessons to students of all ages, conducted a pop a cappella ensemble, and directed the annual musical theater scenes program. Kailyn’s teaching philosophy centers on inspiring and cultivating her students’ intrinsic motivation by prioritizing their unique goals and learning styles. She helps her students hone their vocal and dramatic technique using evidence-based exercises and diverse repertoire. Kailyn’s students have achieved goals such as acceptance to esteemed universities, being cast in leading roles in academic and professional productions, and winning awards from NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing), the Dazzle Awards, and Cleveland Shining Star. Kailyn is also a registered yoga teacher (RYT-200), and she specializes in yoga for anxiety. She lives in Boulder with her husband, Kirk, and their black lab, Piper.
