Ryan Parker

Ryan (he/him) is singer, bass player, and music educator. He holds a Master of Music in Vocal Performance and a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Northern Colorado. Ryan currently serves as Vocal Music Director and Arts Coordinator for Boulder Country Day School (BCD). At BCD, Ryan teaches PS-8 music classes, directs two vocal ensembles, and directs multiple musicals each school year.

Ryan has performed as a vocal soloist with Opera Fort Collins, Loveland Opera, Boulder Opera, Central City Opera, Ars Nova, Boulder Chorale, Kutandara, Opera Classica Europa, UNC Opera Theatre, and as a church musician. As a bass player, Ryan has worked with bands, singer-songwriters, ensembles, and theatrical productions throughout the Colorado region and beyond. He currently performs, records, and tours with the original country-rock band, Mackenzie Rae & Buckshot Moon.

Ryan enjoys working with singers and songwriters of varying styles, helping students to develop healthy vocal technique, musicianship, and artistry, as well as self-accompaniment on guitar. Connecting with students to discover their voice, interests, and passion is at the heart of Ryan's teaching. When he is not teaching or performing, Ryan enjoys running, cycling, reading, coffee, records, and spending time with his family.
