Hannah de Jesus is a dedicated classical guitarist and music educator from Rhode Island. She earned a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Rhode Island and is currently pursuing a Master of Music degree at the University of Colorado Boulder. She began her musical journey by singing at church and in school chorus and then began learning piano at the age of 13 from her father. She continued to advance in piano and has had opportunities to perform at solo concerts, as well as an accompanist for her highschool’s open mic’s and musicals. She began learning classical guitar at the age of 14 and quickly fell in love with the instrument. Through encouragement and support from her teachers Virgina Boyle, Adam Levin as well as her parents, she was able to make rapid progress with the instrument.
With experience in teaching and performance, she provides private instruction in guitar, piano, bass, and voice at Barrington Music and the Community Strings Project, emphasizing strong technical foundations across various styles. She has led group classes, summer camps, and after-school programs, fostering musical growth in students of all ages.
As an accomplished performer, Hannah has participated in many solo concerts as well as ensembles such as the Rhode Island All-State Guitar Ensemble and Chorus, the Interlochen Summer Camp for the Arts Guitar Intensive Ensemble, the University of Rhode Island Guitar Ensemble, The University of Rhode Island Guitar Quartet, and the Community Strings Project. She has showcased her talents at notable events, including the University of Rhode Island Guitar Festival, the Bristol Fourth of July Concert Series, as well as the Night of the Living Guitars concert.
Hannah has taken many masterclasses with world-renowned classical guitarists including Badi Assad, René Izquierdo, Marco Tamayo, Sharon Isbin and Jason Vieaux, to further refine her artistry. Passionate about sharing the joy of music, Hannah continues to inspire students and audiences alike with her commitment to performance and education.
