Parlando on Pearl
Students perform pop music in downtown Boulder while simultaneously conducting a scavenger hunt all along Pearl Street! Participants search through local businesses for clues, and winners receive prizes from some of those same businesses! Whether you perform or not, enjoy live music and an exploration of the heart of Boulder!
Third Thursdays
Parlando students and faculty members perform in the lobby of the Dairy Arts Center on the Third Thursday of every month! These events are completely free and the cafe in the Dairy’s lobby is open with drinks and snacks available. Some Third Thursdays have fun themes, check our Instagram (@parlandoboulder) for the most up to date information about these performances! All Third Thursday performances begin at 6:30pm.
New Musical Project
Our festival of new musicals! Auditions occur in the spring, and performances take place in early August. Visit www.newmusicalproject.org to learn more, sign up for auditions, or purchase tickets for this year’s event!

Musical Theatre
Parlando puts on several musical theatre productions throughout the year. Every summer Parlando produces a Mainstage Show (students grades 7-12) and a Junior Show (students grades 1-6). Auditions for those productions occur in February/March, and the rehearsals and performances take place in June. Parlando also produces a musical theater production during the school year (rehearsals during the fall semester with performances in January). Commissioned Composer
Parlando’s Commissioned Composer Project pairs students with living composers over the course of several months. The composers get to know the musical strengths and challenges of the students and then compose pieces that highlight the students’ strengths, while helping them to stretch their abilities. Students witness firsthand the creative process as composers write and re-write the music until it’s ready for performance - a world premiere performed by Parlando students for a live audience.
